Ah! Have you seen this line of fabroc from Eleanor Grosch called Zoo Menagerie? I just saw it on True Up and fell in love. I think the tiger print is my favorite. This also brings me to Eleanor's website which showcases her wonderful artwork. It is so fresh and fun...I could spend a while on there and want all of her prints. Go check it out.

Have you seen Brainstorm Print and Design? They are a wonderful printing and design studio currently relocating to Philadelphia. The thing they are best at--show posters which I think would be the most fun job ever! I also like the fact that they will print your own artwork...go check 'em out.

The Working Proof
Have you heard of The Working Proof? It is a website which allows artists to post their artwork to sell and for each print sold a percentage goes towards a charity of the artist's choice. Started by the founders of Sub-Studio Design this little project is genius. (P.S. Their studio looks pretty cool)
I loved this Alice in Wonderland inspired print as well as the shoe one. Such beautiful prints. I think I might just have to get the shoe one.

New shirt obsession
How fun are these and don't they just make you feel rebellious? Or want to write on them? These lined shirts are by Brooklyn artists Beka Goedde and Rachel Ostrow. You can find them here on Artware Editions.

This poster....
Makes me like Phoenix even more. Why? I don't know but I think it is absolutely beautiful. Love the simple four colors and shapes used together to create this intriguing design. Hurry and check them out by The Heads of the State. The limited edition screen printed travel posters feature eight different American cities.

Keep Calm Gallery
I'm sure a lot of you have seen the "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters that are popping up everywhere but have you looked at what else the Keep Calm Gallery has to offer? They have some truly beautiful prints and home items.
They started in January 2007 by Jucas Lepola and Haley Thwaites because of their "passion for typography in poster design, British heritage and the medium of screenprinting." I want to work there...pretty please.

My Gocco!
I ordered a Gocco Printer, a Japanese screenprinter that utilizes thermal heat to make the screens, and last night I finally got to try it. I decided to make Christmas cards as my first project and it was so much fun!

First I created my master with the lighthouse which is way easier than any other screenprinting method I have tried (except for the Yudo...any thoughts on that?) I am just so sad that they are discontinuing the Gocco....I guess I better start buying supplies.

After exposing, I selected my inks (brown, red and silver...very holiday-ish) and started applying to the screen. The instructions said to apply the Riso ink-blocking foam to the screen to prevent mixing but I didn't have any sooo I created my own by buying the $0.99 sheets of sticky foam at Michael's. It worked perfectly!

Then I selected my paper and placed it on the sticky pad, which is genius because then your paper never slips around and you get perfect placement. I tried red, white, off-white, green and then a recycled chipboard-ish color. The chipboard one was my favorite.

Press down and ta-da! It took me a few to get the right pressure down but then I was a printing machine. I probably printed over 50 cards last night.

I love how they turned out. I have to now go buy envelopes and write them all. I love my Gocco and it was well worth the purchase, I just wish they would not stop making them. What have you made with your Gocco?
