Wonderous Find

I have a slight obsession with "A" necklaces. I'm pretty sure I have mentioned this before. I currently own five and probably will not stop there. My next purchase? This initial necklace found on Etsy made from a letterpress "a". I love it so much I had to share with you right now. Yes, please hand me one of those.

Pretty vintage finds

Looks like I'm slightly obsessing about vintage clocks. Isn't this find delightful?

And I have always had a things for vintage-looking desk fans.

AMAZING!

This is probably one of the most intricate, beautiful pieces of art I have seen in a long time. And something I would actually spend the money on. Check out Karen who makes hand-cut maps of cities. She will not only do any city in the world, but also custom orders and specific neighborhoods. I love the Dublin one above.

Papernstitch

Have you seen papernstitch? It is a curated marketplace for handmade goods, arts, etc. etc. It takes the best of Etsy and showcases them and then links to the original shops. It is wonderful because let's be honest there is just WAY TOO much on Etsy. Look at these great finds I saw this week.

Wonderful bags by Quote Bag Studio.

This ring I look at everyday by Dillon Designs.

And this poster that makes me so happy by Dee Adams.

All about metal.

Since I was younger I have always had a love for boxes...anything that I could store stuff in. It didn't matter if they were jewelry boxes or cardboard, I simply loved getting and collecting them. In the past couple years I have found myself drawn to metal boxes. Why? I have no idea but I already have quite a collection and am always looking to expand it. Check out these lovelies....

1950's Metal Lunchbox found on Etsy (It reminds me of an airstream and I giggle) P.S. There is a whole plethora on Etsy...What a treasure trove!

An old Army Amo Can from a surplus store. (I think I am going to make a field trip to one this weekend)

Or these new lovely, bright metal trunks from CB2...decisions, decisions about which color to get.

Lovely

How adorable are these felt acorns? Seen on Design*Sponge earlier in December, I just had to post them as a little fabulousness to bring in the New Year. Cheers to 2010, I wish all the best to all our readers.

Alphabet posters

The Guest Blogger over at Design*sponge has done a post about Alphabet Posters. I love Alphabet posters and there are so many good ones out there. Above are my favorites from the guest blogger.

Above are a few more I found that I adore. The first is a silkscreen poster by PetitCollage in San Francisco. And the second is by Sycamore Street Press which I have been eyeing for awhile (and it comes in a variety of great colors!) What is your favorite alphabet poster?

Anthropologie-esque Jewelry

How wonderful is Raquel Castillo's Etsy Shop! Her pieces are truly beautiful. She has a great combination of simple and ornate, sparkle and color, vintage and new. I am loving it.

Everything is constructed of vintage bits and pieces. It is amazing how someone take a bunch of things apart and create something that is theirs and one-of-a-kind.

I am coveting this necklace called "My First Tricycle II", I hope I can have it someday.

All about handmade!

With people around the world becoming more conscience of our economic and environmental struggles, there has been a large movement to buy locally and buy handmade. Why? You are supporting local businesses by stimulating the economy in your community as well as helping grow smaller, mom and pop owned businesses. Have you taken your pledge to buy handmade? Well you can do so at buyhandmade.org.

The pledge is sponsored by an organization put together by some of those on the forefront of the handmade movement. Etsy, Craftster, indiepublic, Craft Magazine, Interweave, Burdastyle, The Austin Craft Mafia, Design*Sponge, and The American Craft Council make up the Handmade Consortium with the common goal of encouraging people to buy handmade. It is a great cause and a wonderful idea and their site is a great resource for links, articles and of course for you to take your pledge. With the holidays coming up quick, I strongly encourage you to take the pledge and challenge yourself to buy handmade!

OUMA Clothing

Ladies and gentlemen I introduce you to OUMA Clothing by local designer, Monique Martinez.

Her stuff is fabulous, so girly and playful. She does great photography of her pieces which makes me love them even more.

I have been eying the Whimsical Spring dress....it is outstanding and I want it so badly. She also does custom work so if you have a special event coming up I would keep her in mind, I know I am. You can check out here website here and her esty shop here.
