The Giving Season
'Tis the season for giving gifts. Why not give one and for a great cause. A friend of ours, Fritz Morton, has some of his pieces featured on fundraising t-shirts available for purchase. The BECA Art Foundation launched a fundraiser selling limited edition screen printed T-shirts (messenger bags and tote bags will be available later) or pieces of art they have selected from various exhibitions they have hosted. Check it out!

DIY costume
I think my Halloween costume this year is my favorite to date. I started looking through my closet to see what I could come up with and pretty much had everything to be a garden gnome. Green sweater, khaki vest, long jean short, bright blue tights (clearance at Target), and my sister's Ugg boots. I made a pointy red felt hat, purchased some eyebrowns and a grey beard (which I wanted to make out of grey fur but Joann did not have any). and Violia! A gnome.

Eleanor Grosch
Ah! Have you seen this line of fabroc from Eleanor Grosch called Zoo Menagerie? I just saw it on True Up and fell in love. I think the tiger print is my favorite. This also brings me to Eleanor's website which showcases her wonderful artwork. It is so fresh and fun...I could spend a while on there and want all of her prints. Go check it out.

Halloween Spirit
The month of October is fabulous. The weather is changing and you get to decorate for Halloween! This year my favorite decoration I made were bleeding candles. I bought some premade ones at the store but then realized I needed more. And of course Martha had it on her website...much more economical and super easy.

Oh tape again...
I heart this optical illusion tape. I think if I ordered every decorative tape I have spotted I would be in heaven....and in a room full of just tape.

Camping!
This weekend I am going camping! And cannot wait. Seriously I wish it were tomorrow. With that said, I am trying something new this year...spiked hot apple cider. Doesn't that just say fall to you. And being I am going to make it I need a fancy thermos to drink out of.
Look at this awesome wine glass!
And espresso cup. I heart. But they are metal I will probably burn my hands. Any suggestions?

Kid themed...
A few things regarding darling kids...
1. Check out the diy-project for any mother. A pea-pod necklace! Looks so cute and simple.
2. Have you seen Tim MacPherson photography. I am in love. It is so awesome how he creates scenes out of simple household items. I'm sure any kid would dig this kind of portrait.

Who doesn't love vintage....
Vintage internet ads? Love! How awesome are these advertisements for things such as Facebook and Twitter. I'm sorry to say but I think the golden age of advertising is long gone, but these give me hope. Seen via Design Mom.
Embrace the electronic.
I love getting mail...not bills and junk mail, but I just love getting a letter or a postcard. It is such a lost art these days so when something does arrive it just makes my day. With that said I am wondering if there is not a way to embrace the old and new. Check out the Cartolina iPhone app. I have not tried it yet, but basically there are some lovely designed templates which allow you to email or text a letter.
An email I don't find so new but receiving a "letter" text in the middle of my work day could make it that much better. Has anyone used it? Thoughts?

In Seattle this weekend?
Are you by chance in the Pacific NW this weekend? If so you must go check out The Pike Place Market Artisan Food Festival. Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 10-5 local vendors, music, a beer garden and demonstrations will be taking place at the market. And Pink Peony Chocolates will be there! And they are going to be introducing something new....the anticipation is killing me!

Heart.
These bicycle handlebar bags by Adeline Adeline. And you should take a look at the rest of the shop. It is truely lovely. I will take anything from there.
It just makes me want to jump on the cruiser right now and go for a ride...preferably in a quaint European town. P.S. You should look at the helmets! So envious.

Words of wisdom....
I read this on Color Me Katie...
"Face it, feelings are mutable, and an emotion that seems permanent one minute could be a distant memory the next. Instead of focusing on what could be, figure out what really is and then make your move with haste."
And thought I would share. I find it very calming.

Head in the Clouds
Apologize for my lack of blogging. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend and was able to get back in the swing of their routines. The Cloudly Collection is basically a guys and his friends and a letterpress. Sounds delightful right? Every three months or so they make a new collection for sale and a percentage of sales goes to a charity. I wonder if I could take part sometime?
P.S. I heart their logo.
